Two years ago the words Guildford Flames meant absolutely nothing to the teams in the elite league. Now those same words and their iconic logo are being represented on t shirts, hoodies and caps next to the words “Patton Conference Champions”.

The Flames, with only one season in the top flight of hockey under their belt, are now looking like serious contenders in the league this season.

The 17th February 2019 is a date the Guildford Flames organisation and its fans will never forget as this is the date in which they made history with their first ever Elite League trophy; thanks to a 1-0 win over The Manchester Storm which claimed them Patton Conference title from the previous winners.

“It’s pretty exciting to be able to celebrate our first trophy in this league,” said Head Coach Paul Dixon.

But whats more exciting is what lies ahead as the Flames could go on to add more silverware to the collection this year with a challenge cup final waiting for them against the League Leaders the Belfast Giants on March 10th at the Ice Arena Wales. And the playoff campaign still looking good for them.

Paul Dixon added “This group of guys bring a passion and desire to the game every time they are on the ice, and they deserve this.

“Obviously we have a lot in front of us with the Cup final, and the playoff chase, but certainly this is a real achievement for this group and we will enjoy it before moving forward for whatever comes next.”

Coming up soon on Legacy TV is our new you tube series Legacy 26 which kicks off next month and it is featuring no other then  Guildford Flames forward and GB international Ben Davies so keep your eyes out for this.
