Sunday afternoon in Nottingham and it is Manchester Storm who take on Glasgow Clan for third place at the 2026 Elite Ice Hockey League Playoff Finals Weekend. The crowd are in good spirits for what is an early game, with fans of both sides taking their seats and the arena filling nicely ahead of face-off.
Period One
Storm came out fast in the opening period, breaking quickly and getting an early shot away though Souliere was equal to it, making a comfortable save. Manchester continued to apply the pressure and looked the sharper of the two sides in the early stages.

Storm continued to look the stronger side and showed no signs of easing up. However, with five minutes remaining in the first period, Glasgow pulled one back to level it up at 1–1, giving the Clan a timely boost heading into the first intermission.
Period Two
Manchester picked up where they left off, continuing to carry the majority of the play and pressure in the second period. Their persistence paid off as Storm retook the lead to make it 2–1 — but the Clan responded almost immediately, drawing level once again at 2–2 in a frantic spell of play.

Both teams applied pressure but it was clan who found the answer Late in the period, Glasgow grabbed what could prove to be a crucial advantage. A shot through traffic caught Wenniger off guard, the Storm netminder's view blocked by a screen, and the Clan converted to take the lead heading into the third period.
Period Three
The third period saw both sides battle hard, with Manchester pushing for the equaliser and Glasgow determined to hold on to what they had. It was a tense, committed affair from both teams, but despite the effort neither side could find a way to change the scoreline. The game finished as it stood Glasgow Clan claiming third place with a 3–2 victory over Manchester Storm.

Final Thoughts
On paper this was the lowest scoring game for a bronze medal game in the elite leauge history, but this one delivered where it mattered the final five minutes had real edge and intensity, with Storm pressing hard and Clan digging deep to see it out. Glasgow deserve credit for their resilience, particularly for that late second period goal that proved to be the difference. A competitive, entertaining game.
